For Spring/Summer 2023, Tara O’Connor was inspired by the vibrant colours of India and summer holidays in the Riviera, resulting in a range of sunny looks to style as you choose
There’s no better way to welcome in the season of renewal than by inviting friends and family to gather round the table for a seasonal feast. The Designed Table’s latest collection has been created to bring a refreshing lightness to your table, whether it’s an Easter feast, a family celebration or a simple Sunday lunch.
“This collection is inspired by a trip I took to India last year,” says Tara O’Connor. “It’s so full of colour and pattern. With our new table runner and placemat set, we’re dreaming of summers on the Rivera.” Joining the collection this Spring is a table runner and placemats featuring a floral pattern in blue embroidery with beaded yellow sequins. Each piece is sold individually or can be
combined together as a tablescape in a box with a complementary blue linen/cotton napkin. The yellow velvet bow napkin rings pair beautifully with this new range.

New to the check collection for spring is a pink, red and white gingham print. Finish the look with either a red or pink trimmed jute placemat and a pink or red napkin for a whimsical tablescape made for Summer fun. Speaking of fun, Tara has also introduced a playful hand-embroidered bunny placemat in a delicate pastel green and pearl with matching pastel green cotton napkins and finished with a simple white wooden bunny napkin ring to help you create an elegant Easter tablescape that is sure to impress your guests.

Also new to the tablescape in a box selection is a clean, minimalist look made up of a white tablecloth paired with bamboo placemats and matching linen/cotton napkins. Or for a Springtime pastel scheme, you can opt for a powder blue check tablecloth paired with bamboo placemats with a yellow trim and matching yellow napkin. Each piece can also be ordered individually, too.

Other imaginative accessories have also been added to the collection this season, including a beautiful range of hand-painted candleholders created by a company in India that Tara visited on her travels last year to match existing prints in The Designed Table’s collection. These are made to hold both tapered and pillar candles for versatility.

And back in stock in time for Spring is the ever popular rainbow jute placement collection – a set of six handcrafted round woven jute placemats in natural raw jute with a natural and coloured trim. They’re the perfect way to inject colour and a sense of celebration to any table setting. Each colour can also be ordered individually.
With an extensive range of tablecloths, runners, and cotton linen napkins in vibrant colours and elegant prints, complemented by a unique range of table accessories like placemats, candlesticks and napkin rings in a selection of quality materials to suit both formal and casual dining, The Designed Table’s collection is designed to work interchangeably, offering versatility and variation to suit the occasion.
“Everything we launch, from season to season, is intended to be used with items from past collections. We create linen that lasts and can be used time and time again,” says Tara.
Every piece in The Designed Table collection is designed by Tara in Ireland and made in India by Fairtrade certified artisan manufacturers.
The new collection is available to order now at thedesignedtable.com. Prices start from €24 for napkin rings; €40 for a set of four napkins; and from €199 for a Tablescape in a Box to seat six guests.
