September is set to sparkle this year as the Festival of Prosecco returns again to Belfast’s Merchant Hotel.

Now in its sixth year, the month-long festival presents an array of special events and drinks offers throughout September.

Last year’s sell out festival saw The Merchant serving over 3,000 glasses of prosecco throughout September. It is expected this will be topped in 2022, following early consumer demand for tickets and an expanded programme of events.

The surroundings of The Great Room Restaurant is location for a prosecco dinner with Valdo Oenologist, Davide Roncada. Having graduated in Viticulture and Oenology at University of Udine, Italy, Davide will entertain and educate guests with his wine knowledge throughout the four-course dinner.

In addition to the prosecco dinner, guests can take part in Battle of the Bubbles in The Merchant’s Rooftop Garden with Noel McMahon, enjoy some bubbles and fashion at a styling session with Rebecca McKinney, or opt for a Prosecco Masterclass on the Rooftop Garden.

There will also be a number of offers available for prosecco lovers throughout, including a Valdo prosecco afternoon tea, prosecco tasting flights and a variety of prosecco cocktails with a twist at the Merchant Hotel’s Cocktail Bar. The Cloth Ear and Berts Jazz Bar have also created their own list of prosecco cocktails exclusively for the festival.

Gavin Carroll, General Manager said: “We are delighted that The Merchant’s Festival of Prosecco is returning for another year this September as it continues to prove extremely popular with guests. We have an exciting new range of events in this year’s programme, including the first-time Valdo prosecco dinner with Davide Roncada, which is sure to add a little sparkle to the autumn social scene.”
