The team at the five-star Dublin hotel have created a special afternoon tea experience inspired by the Raindance 25 collection from neighbouring Grafton Street jewellers, Boodles

Just like the perfect rose, Argyle pink diamonds are a rare treasure to behold. These precious gems are sprinkled throughout Boodles’ newly launched anniversary collection, Raindance 25. To celebrate, Boodles have partnered with The Westbury on a special afternoon tea experience honouring this milestone and the hotel’s luxurious Grafton Street neighbours, creators of fine jewellery since 1798.

This year marks a special chapter in Boodles’ story, celebrating 25 years of one of its most iconic designs: Raindance. To mark a quarter-century of these pieces that have become synonymous with Boodles, Raindance 25 adds a new twist to a now-classic design: exceptional pieces that for the first time feature rare and beautiful Argyle pink diamonds, set among the signature white diamonds that define the original Raindance design.

It was during a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show 25 years ago that Boodles’ Director of Design, Rebecca Hawkins was captivated by the play of light on the raindrops she saw. Inspired by this enchanting spectacle, she created the concept of the Raindance collection – a design reminiscent of sprinkled raindrops glistening in the sun. “Little did we realise two-and‐a‐half decades ago that we’d just created what would go on to be Boodles’ most cherished collection,” says Boodles Managing Director James Amos.

Inspired by the beautiful rosy shade of these precious pink diamonds, and in homage to the long history of the five-star hotel’s luxurious Grafton Street neighbours, Boodles Afternoon Tea at The Westbury, served in The Gallery overlooking Dublin’s Grafton Street, includes The Westbury’s exquisite selection of freshly prepared sandwiches and scones alongside five newly created miniature handmade desserts, each reflecting the delicate designs of Boodles’ glittering Raindance 25 collection.

“Celebrating milestones like this one is what The Westbury is all about,” says Vincent O’Gorman, General Manager of The Westbury. “As neighbours of Boodles in the heart of Dublin city, and with our shared dedication to bringing moments to life adorned with timeless luxury, this collaboration is about honouring creativity, heritage and enduring elegance.”

The elegant selection of confections includes the Chocolate Choux, a light, buttery cocoa choux pastry topped with a sweet crunchy biscuit crust, filled with milk chocolate mousse, served on a chocolate sablé biscuit; the Lemon Posset, Blueberry Compote, a rich, smooth and zesty lemon cream topped with homemade blueberry compote, and finished with gold leaf and chocolate pearls; the Pistachio and Vanilla Opera, resembling a Boodles gift box and featuring roasted pistachio flavoured buttercream layered with Chambord-soaked sponge and whipped vanilla ganache, covered in rich pistachio glaze; the White Chocolate and Raspberry Crémeux, a velvety white chocolate and raspberry cream centre enrobed in raspberry chocolate with crunchy raspberry chips, on a sablé, topped with silver and rose gold chocolate pearls inspired by the Raindance 25 diamond and rose gold bracelet; and the Strawberry Heart Petit Gâteau, a Champagne strawberry mousse entremet with a mascarpone vanilla centre, almond sponge and almond sablé base.

Boodles Afternoon Tea at The Westbury, €75 or €98 to include a glass of Charles Heidsieck Brut Réserve NV, is available from October 1. The menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free courses plus a selection of sustainably certified teas, coffees and infusions from around the world.
