Year of the Horse | Thursday 26 February 2026
Chinese New Year is a time for gathering, sharing and celebrating around the table, and on Thursday 26 February, Kaizen Chinese Restaurant will mark the Year of the Horse with a one-night dining experience created especially for the occasion.
From 6.00pm, guests will be welcomed to an evening built around a bespoke eight-course tasting menu, designed to be shared and enjoyed at an unhurried pace. Priced at €60 per person, the experience includes a glass of Prosecco and will be accompanied by live Chinese harp music, adding atmosphere and a sense of ceremony to the night.
The menu has been created by Head Chef Leung, whose career spans more than 25 years in Chinese kitchens, including head chef roles in Hong Kong. His cooking is rooted in refined Cantonese technique, with a focus on balance, clarity of flavour and precision, brought to life at Kaizen through the careful use of seasonal Irish produce.
Opened in 2024, Kaizen builds on the culinary heritage of Ka Shing, established in Dublin in 2013. The restaurant has quickly become known for its modern approach to Chinese dining, with a strong Hong Kong regional focus, elegant presentation and an atmosphere that encourages guests to slow down, share dishes and enjoy the experience together.
Speaking about the Chinese New Year celebration, Mandy Tang, owner of Kaizen Chinese Restaurant, said: ‘This tasting menu brings together the flavours and techniques that define Kaizen. Chinese New Year is about coming together, and this menu was created to be shared.’
She added: ‘Kaizen today is about doing things properly. Respecting tradition, focusing on quality and creating a place where people genuinely enjoy spending time around the table.’
Kaizen was recently named Best Chinese Restaurant in Dublin at the 2025 Asian Restaurant Awards, recognising its commitment to craft, consistency and contemporary Chinese cuisine.
This Chinese New Year celebration is a one-night event with limited availability.
